When it comes to celebrating Passover, the memorialisation of the Hebrews’ release from Egyptian slavery, Las Vegas is a localize observant Judaic tourists traditionally go through over. Not that in that respect aren’t options. Many temples hold undetermined seders. And the Earl Grey Cafe at the JW Marriott, the Bagel Cafe, and Honey Salt are known for their kosher-for-Passover holiday spreads.

But all these options are miles from the Strip — and the most observing of Jews fall out strict Torah law forbidding them from riding in cars, or using electricity, on the Sabbath.

Starting this year, a Jewish non-profit called the Shabbat Inc. is changing all that past bringing Pesach to the Strip for  what is believed to live the for the first time time. Running Apr 4-16, its “Passover Shabbaton Las Vegas” get at Resorts World will include a choreographed sing-along Haggada demo and five-star cosher seder dinner party prepared by award-winning chefs on the foremost night of Passover, Apr 5.

Other days and nights will include Jewish acapella bands, classes with rabbis, standup comedy, and discount tickets to events around town. There’s also an indoor children’s playground and private swimming, and optional excursions planned to Mt. Charleston, Sion National Park, and Red John Rock Canyon.

Oy, Vegas!

Traditional Jewish practice of law is hard plenty to bind to at home, practically less inward Sin City. But Areyah Rifkin, father and chair of the Shabbat Inc., managed to get under one's skin Resorts World to supply the program with Shabbos elevators — a special musical mode that doesn’t require users to spot elevator buttons. He also got the resort hotel to change the plumbing system fixtures in the rooms rented by the political party to non-automated — no more little undertaking — since machine-driven sensors make up the use of electricity.

“I contacted and toured 55 Las Vegas resorts and found only ace open and willing to piece of work with the Jewish community,” Rifkin told the Jewish Journal. “As all this was coming together, i worked night and twenty-four hour period developing videos, marketing materials, digital assets, and electronic messaging and managing a squad of net developers. I work on every minute of arc I’m awake.”

After Passover, the Shabbat Inc. plans a year-round serial publication of communal sabbaths centered around Resorts World’s full stocked five-star cosher kitchen.

“Our programing is for singles, families and children, and we welcome Sephardic, Orthodox, Chabad, Carlebachian — any observant outlook,” Rifkin told the Jewish Journal. “The sizing and snap of Resorts World provides us the unique opportunity to consort simultaneous programs for singles, couples, and kids of all ages.”
